I may stand corrected about his interest in connacht but it won't change the fact that the commentary was terrible Máire Treasa would have giving better.

There is actually a very interesting story about Cian de Buitléar, who was doing the commentary. I'm open to correction about this but as far as I know he set up An Ghaeltacht rugby club in An Cheathrú Rua. It's doing fairly well and they have a player in the Connacht academy, Colm de Buitléar. And yes that is Cian's son.

Any commentary that is recorded after the game and added onto highlights always sounds bad and I have never heard him doing commentary before so I don't know how much experience he has doing it but I did learn something from the commentary. He said that when two big forwards are in midfield and one passes to the other to change the point of contact, it's called King Kong. I had never heard that before. I was surprised it was him doing it in the first place. He is a filmmaker in his own right.

Anyway, I'd say he has a serious interest in Connacht Rugby and hopefully we'll hear more about Colm de Buitléar in the future. If we do, I wouldn't be surprised if the media pick up on the story and use it to show the expansion of rugby in Connacht and Ireland and in that case we may hear more from Cian de Buitléar.

Hats off to Jonny Arr for coming in and doing an interview in the Clan Bar after the game. Probably not the most enticing prospect after a defeat so fair play for dropping in and having a chat. Gentleman.

Try in the first half was very well worked and we got the bit of a break we needed for the one in the 2nd half. Apart from that a largely frustrating and forgettable game. Some bright sparks were Healy, McKeon, Butler and when he came on Marmion finally brought some shape to what we were doing.

Worcester's bonus point could come back to cost us. We'll have a tough away game v Brive next up. The main objective of all our pool rivals is domestic matters though so we'll have to see how seriously any of them commit as the competition goes on.

Missing the easy conversion was dreadful - sloppy at best.

Giving Worcester a LBP is gonna haunt us i fear in our pursuit of a Home Quarter final
Happy for Gallagher to get his debut- first of many I'm sure
Thought Marmion made a massive difference when he came in for Blade who was abit frustrating at times (even though he was better than he was against Scarlets)
Cannon, McKeon and Butler were brilliant- Roux good too
Shame Connolly got injured so early- alot of injuries actually with him, Griffin, Roux and McCoy hobbling off
TOH did brilliant for Masterson try but apart from that didn't seem completely fit, could have done with being rested for this and starting Kelleher who looked good when he came on
Great to see Healy with abit of his mojo back

Having watched that game it is easy to see why so many English teams have such high injury lists, that was an attempt to bludgeon Connacht to bits, and when it didn't work they bludgeoned harder. The Connacht defensive system seem to have no issue dealing with Worcester, which is a small step but an encouraging step. Connacht seemed to be able to get to the 22 with relative ease, but then ran out of ideas. It is a bit unfair to say we butchered chances, because we didn't really cut them open. Worcester got incredibly physical and the breakdown when we got close to the try line, which forced a number of errors.

While Blade played much better then he has of late, the introduction of Marmion made a big difference, and Kelleher brought a bit of pace into out attack which the tired Worcester legs found it hard to deal with. Some very silly penalties in the closing 10 mins made the final stages far more tense than it needed be.

Massive game in the context of our season. As Rogue says a win is the first objective but a win by >8 would be a big result for us. Worcester have 2 games against Oyonnax to come before we meet them again so we want to get as much of an advantage over them as possible.

Some of the selections today I'm not so sure about. Worcester have no real pressure on them today. If they get some encouragement it could be a nervy day.

Of course you're right but I'll take a 3 point win here especially if the weather is bad. Denying Worcester a losing bonus point will have me believing Connacht can top the pool though. Still need some work on the defense as the tries run in by Oyonnax were all too easy. Thought KK might give Deegan a run of games to stake a claim on outhalf position.
