FYI Dobby. Players and players family and friends read these posts. Connacht this year has gone through an awful time. The loss of staff , Pats impending departure (this has impacted the most focus is gone ), the loss of key players etc. Its not easy for the players, I'd like to reiterate what Mulman was saying ...no team of 15 would ever intend to play like yesterday but everything has taken its toll evidently . Of course the players will be embarrassed with their performance . They
are far better than that performance yesterday and they know that. A true supporter reacts how Mulman did, you Dobby are the latter . Don't knock lads when they're down , you would want to take a long look at the meaning of the word 'supporter'
I know what you say. But I believe that the Connacht players need to take a long hard look at themselves. Yes there are many excuses for our poor performances recently. But you can make excuses for anything. I am saying there was no excuse that could possibly describe the performance yesterday. I think Pat said it well on the42. Players weren't communicating with each other. And there are times when they need to be reminded of what it is to be a player, and what a supporter is. If this causes hurt, well I believe this is good, because a hurt player is likely to try and correct that hurt . Am I a fair weather supporter? I don't think so. I have been a long term Connacht supporter and I believe when something needs to be said then it should be said. Connacht has probably the best support base of any team in Ireland. These supporters follow them through highs and lows. And they do so because they know their team does their living best. Watching 'The West Awake' on Friday night said it all. We lost 14 games on the trot before the Harlequins win. But every one of those games we gave it everything. What we saw yesterday was a complete mess and was a disgrace. And its important that they are reminded from time to time that they represent folks who have huge pride in them. I know its only a game but yesterday and last week were two games that brought no pride to me. Our team are better than that and should be told so. They let themselves down and they let their fans down. Its the first time I have ever felt that way about a Connacht team and I felt the need to say it.

One of the gate staff in Thomond told us 12,500 or so.
Enjoyed the day if not the match.
Thanks to the Connacht Clan committee and Ciaran and Adrienne of Murty Rabbitts for looking after us all so well.
Tough for the team to misfire like that it happens to all teams some time but we are in a rut.
Only way is up from here. Will it be next game or next season though?
No way that either Northampton or Gloucester would be worried about playing us on this form.

Have to agree.
If we win the playoffs we get 20th spot and will be the 4th seed in whatever pool we get drawn in, meaning 2 (if not 4) more nights like last night.
We need a rebuilding season under KK.
Dropping down to Challenge Cup will have us Top Pro 12 seed (if Cardiff win their playoffs) or 2nd seed if they don't. Either way we could be top seed in our Challenge Cup group and a chance for some well needed win.

Our defence was pretty poor last evening.

Salmson, dobby, shelflife made good comments above.
Our game plan is so clear, getting the ball standing still. I'll try find and article from John mul who said at the start of the season that 'if we plan the same game plan, we won't finish 6th'. We're playing a slower game plan to last season and nowhere near 6th.
I was chatting to my dad, there is no mistake or player you could blame, it's all just awful.
I know pat has done great things in the west, but if you look at social media, you can see him opening or attending some event maybe twice a week. It's great he's open to go, raises awareness but add in the work he has to do for Bristol and he doesn't leave much time for Connacht apart from standard.
Also, people see him as an easy target, I'll always stand up for him, game after game he shows passion, things sometimes doesn't work out but easily our best player yesterday. Jack carty has a good game yesterday. Got tackled late at one stage and was limping for couple mins but he made sure to recover to keep going.
Well done jack

MulMan wrote: I can very much guarantee you they do feel embarrassed, but honest to god please don't be so narrow minded. Do you think they went out today with the aim to play so poorly, do you think any one of the 23 that played today are going to sleep easy tonight with how things transpired in Limerick today, not one. It's bad at the minute. I'll give you that, it's raw and it stings, I'm not happy but I can't cast aside the players and throw tirades of abuse at them, I can't and won't. That's all I've to say on the matter, I'm sorry you don't feel the same.
So I witnessed TOH taken off and shaking hands with the rest of the team. He was absolutely shocking last week, absolutely shocking this week but lets applaud each other anyway. I was gobsmacked looking at this stupidity. He should have sat in a corner and considered how crap he was rather than giving high fives to buddies
