For me the problems were all of our own making. Munster were their usual disruptive self, they are so good at disrupting off the ball and rarely get pinged for it.

Munster were clinical when they got the chance, we on the other hand knocked on about 3 times when on the attack, lost as Benji said 3 attacking lineouts , lost a good (initially) maul when inside their 22 and then we had the pen kick dead, thats 8 unforced errors when we were on the attack. Simple cant afford to make those mistakes as they are demoralising and energy draining.

Its hard to come to Thomond and get anything, had we avoided those errors it would have made for a different game and perhaps a BP loss.

Courage is knowing what lies on the other side and still opening the door.

The scoreline was about what I'd have expected. We started well and Carty mixed the good with the bad.
Our lineout has been great all year but was crap against Munster. We probably lost 3 lineouts in the Munster 22 when we should have been able to put pressure on them. That drains the legs and energy from the squad.
We needed to take a few of those chances that good lineout and mauls would have created.
Carty is missing a good 12 or a great 9 inside him to direct him as his lost at times himself. The missed penalty kick to the corner was a disaster . Two minutes later Munster's Keatley nailed a penalty to touch inside our 22 and they scored from it. Its not where we should have been .
I though Finn did well but Poolman is lost and wasted at 13. We really missed Aki, McSharry and Henshaw.
Is Mills staying for another year?

Masterson and Buckley were the best of the forwards. Muldowney was surprisingly quiet.
Again another tough day at the office.

every year we seem to have the same issues at this time of year with players getting injured and other players dipping in form, not enough depth has been the issue in key positions and if only we could keep are key players healthy and on form it would be a different story. at least we are still in the hunt and we can only hope our players still have the energy and belief to get some unlikely results in the next 2 months

42-20 at full time. You sensed tries would eventually come for Munster but conceding 35 points in the last 25 minutes is very poor. Hard to see us doing enough for 6th or even 7th at this stage. Some big improvements made this year but we lack the ball carriers, the back row, out half and squad depth to compete at the next level. A big signing in the back row and a quality out half at an absolute minimum badly needed in my view or we'll keep repeating this time and again. There is a lot of dross in that Munster team but they have the quality of the likes of Stander and good ball carriers in their pack to give them the platform they need.

Spell of play on Munster 22 at 7-6 around 52/53 minutes and well in the hunt summed us up. Not breaking the game line and looking aimless after a couple of phases. Get called for in from the side and that led to the try which killed the game. We've seen it so many times over the years. We didn't have the bench to match Munster with all the absentees. Munster have the depth to cope with a few losses and could spring the likes of Kilcoyne, Casey, Botha etc., we don't have that depth in most areas.

Christ - we gifted them 14 points at the end. Carty looks totally devoid of confidence.

Late try from Shane O'Leary to bring it back to 35-20 and then we piss away another try.

Munster walking this now. Probably going to be a 5 pointer for them. This game once again showing up glaringly the areas where we are not good enough. I'd give my left hand to have a player like Stander. Providing huge impetus in a game severely lacking in quality.

Munster go back route 1 and get in for a try. Probably game over now.

We are getting territory but we can't break the gain line in and around the 22. Still 7-6.

7-3 at half time. Decent performance so far. Poor try conceded and lineout has had its problems. Munster look like they will get tries but we have competed better at the breakdown than we usually do against the better sides. Scrum has had a slight edge.

However, we have had a fair bit of territory and have nothing to show for it. Need to make sure we don't let Munster make their move in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half. I think Munster will open us up as the game wears on.

Good pen from Carty to get us going but soft try for Munster after Stander got them going forward. 7-3. Plenty of ball but not making it count for anything.

Bit of a turnaround, yellow for Barclay and in his absence Edinburgh work their way into the game and lead 17-15 up at half time. 2 tries for Edinburgh now and Scarlets lineout struggling in last few minutes.
