So Henshaw too good to avoid Ireland cap, Aki recovering in N-Z, I guess it's time to re-activate the poll/debate about the pairing for Scarlets.. IMO, if Finn does really well today as n°13, he's got a chance, if not Lam will go with a McSharry/leader partnership, Mils at FB

The idea of O'Leary as a false 13/second playmaker alongside McSharry is certainly intriguing, but I voted McShaz/Leader as I think Leader is the most like for like replacement for Henshaw, even though I think he's probably more as a 12. Its a difficult decision, the only thing that provides confidence is that Lam will already be planning the combo in training.

TBH i've a good excuse, Fitzgerald and Earls are really 2 of my favourite non-Connacht players. So in my mind, it's not (entirely ) a selfish provincial interest not to be bothered if they played 13 for some of the 6 nations games

Not Untrue, but Ronaldson isn't Madigan either...

Moot point really, FB and Inside Centre two different positions.
He's definitely lost some gas which is affecting him at FB, won't be an issue at 12 where his games intelligence is far more important.
Defensively he's sound and has good hands, and he's quick enough over the first few metres still...

play him 13 is debatable, but 12 is clearly out-of-the-question for me. If an opposite backrower comes to tackle him he will be on the back foot all the time.

If Ronaldson is still healthy the Scarlet's back row will have their hands full covering the ten channel, creating space for Mils....

Because you're pessimistic by nature?
Seriously, we have to take into account the slim but still real possibilty which is :Henshaw may be released for 1 or 2 of the away games in Wales...Hope Fitzgerald Olding and Earls will do very well in the next few weeks

Shame on you Connachta. I was secretly, selfishly hoping he gets beat out as well. Otherwise it will be a long 6 Nations as I will be breaking out the rosary beads, crossing fingers and holding my breath the whole time. Robbie really loses total regard for his body when he's put on the Ireland jersey. Injury doesn't seem to be just a possibility, it is inevitable.

Agree, and he will have 3 weeks to train for 13, not the 3 minutes he had to get ready in England

If Ronaldson is fit, I definitely want him at ten.

So Mils & McShaz in the centre, Heals and Danie on the wings and Darragh at FB...

Poolman didn't play particuarly well that day but as was mentioned it was a last minute switch. Robbie had to go to inside and so the centre pairing was very much thrown together. I would say that with some time to train at 13 Poolman could do a job there. Great eye for an opportunity. Wouldn't start him there against Exeter though, as they had him number over there.

O'Leary might be intersting at 13, his kicking game could destabilize the Welsh defence.. + he's fast enough to have played winger for Eagles..
