Marmion has been class, I cant understand why Joe hasnt used him more. Yes he hasnt the experience but his got great potential and has been on a learning curve since coming to Galway.

I would have said that Jake Heenan was Marmion's only competition for Player of the Year, but with him out for the rest of the season I can see Kieran pulling even further ahead. It's vital that we find the right partner for him at halfback next season.

Well he played games 50 in a row so hard see how could be quicker

He deserves our Player of Season imo

And he must be up there for IRFU Young Player?

Lol sarky. My point was its rare if not impossible to imagine a scenario when a young, untried player comes in and not only does well but excels and is already so far ahead of his competition that its inconceivable that he wouldn't be the starter when fit. Even when he deserved a break against Toulouse he put in a huge performance. Even when he was away with Ireland camp he went straight back on to the bench. He's the most essential player to Connacht right now imo and almost certainly performing the most consistently.
Always felt he would be Connacht's player of the season and cannot think of any other youngster in their first/second season that has put their hand up more than Marmion for the IRFU award.

That's why Swifty re-signed! He's already scared about his 250-Caps record !!

Yeah, Carr and Healy are on 4 each so he's not home and hosed just yet.

6 tries, 2 player of the month awards, Wolfhound capped, MOTM in Toulouse... I can't think of anyone else remotely close in the running for Player of the Season.

To be on a drip in hospital and then get out and play the next day........ Tough young man.

He is a great lad as well as a great player. For all the opinions on the team in general, you never hear anyone say that he has a bad game.

Resurrected to celebrate Marmion's 50th cap! One of the quickest to reach the milestone surely? Have to say again what an incredibly talented and tenacious player he is, always gives his all in every performance, no matter who the opposition is or what the odds against are. His dump tackle on Nyanga in the sportsground while literally puking before during and after the game embodied that attitude to me. Ok it was borderline illegal but who cares.
I think he might also be joint top try scorer in the rabo atm (tied with Carr) but its hard to tell with the newly revamped site.
Would love to see him be captain within a year or two I think he's shown what a force he can be and I think as an official leader those qualities would only be enhanced.

True and Murray had a decent enough disciplinary record couldn't see him getting a long ban if found guilty.

Marmion hasn't a hope of being in the 23 going on the squad selection. Even if he is called up he'll be released back to us for the Rabo games.

One month "nearly off" isn't a bad thing to rest the young guy, POD, Blade and Murphy could play 4 matches, SH is the only area without injuries right now (except maybe Walsh?)

Feck, we can't afford to lost Marmion for a month while Schmidt picks Reddan to start and Boss on the bench!
