I'd imagine there's some Volvo Ocean Race related ones going up soon. No point in putting some up now just to have them removed/replaced before the build up to the season.rossie wrote: i noticed today that all the connacht flags along the prom have been removed. does anyone know why and if they are being replaced?
Also, a bit of sail repair tape along the edges of any new flags might be worth trying to make them a bit more durable.

I was walking the prom today and galway Hurling supporters club have put up flags on every lamp post where connacht rugby flags used to hang. Look good actually but it will be very difficult to put back up connacht ones for new season with these in situ.

The remaining Connacht flags were taken down to make way for Ocean Race ones a few months ago. Once the second Sunday in September is past I'm sure the hurling flags will make way for Connacht again.

we have the same problems as the north, where is my fleg?
Galway city council has banned flags on the prom, which were connacht rugby, galway gaa and galway fc. they then fly around 36 flags. the 32 countys of ireland and the galway flag is there around 5 times. they are around 8 foot of the ground when windy but when is calm, they hang around 4foot of the ground. hopefully they will all be stolen.
are the city council pissing of the locals trying to suck up to the tourists?

(galway bay hotel have 'trad on the prom' posters/flags on about 5 lamp posts)

Heard a story someone objected to flags on College road which led to Connacht being forced to take down all flags.
