Well we all want to be getting off the tube at Twickenham Station, which you can get to via London Waterloo, or Clapham Junction.
Must do more research into that. We should try to organise all the Connacht fans meeting up in some bar for 6:30. Plenty of time for a few pints, and then the game.
I've never been to Twickenham, so dont know any pubs close by, but if someone wants to throw a name out there, I'll be there

I plan to go for a few pints by Waterloo station from about 4:30 on. Going to be hoping on the train from there to Twickenham at around 6:15

If anyone is interested in going for pints in Waterloo, I'll tweet the name of the pub I'm in, once I find one (@ConnachtCows)

Hopefully the picture I'm trying to attach to this works. I've highlighted the stations to help people get to Twickenham

Absolutely without a doubt the best bar in the area. Great beer selection, cosy front and a large back room. I used to love popping in there.

Excellent, thanks for that. Was trying to find some reviews online for places, and that seemed to be the place with the most positive reviews.

Almost certainly, that I'll be in there from 4 on Friday, so anyone who wants to pop in, please come over and say hello

Right have split this out from the Main thread because not all supporters will go through Central London, Waterloo meet would only make sense for people travelling into London from Oop North that day/ are staying in Central London for trip or who are working in London..

  • Those travelling from the South Coast/South London will only go as far as Clapham Junction and join the Twickenham train there.

  • Supporters into Heathrow on the day, will find it's cheaper and quicker to jump in a Cab to Twickenham than go into town on Heathrow Express to Paddington and then all the way back out again from Waterloo.

As I mentioned on Twitter the best option is to head to The Garryowen in Twickenham (used to be Rugby Tavern and am trying to verify if it may actually have changed names recently) which is realy close to the Station and not too far down the town. It's basically on the same side of the road as the Station, just turn left over the bridge as you come out and it's a three inute walk to the next junction. It's opposite the Cabbage Patch which is usually a Quins rallying point..

Thanks for this Sea Point.

I'll aim to be in the Garryowen for at least one pint before the game, and possibly after as well, but have to meet a fellow Connacht fan, now living in London in Waterloo first, so I'll be there for a few drinks, and hope to see a few other cattle in there too  :P

4? It was 4:30 earlier Baz - come Friday you'll be aiming for a midday kick off in the pub (with hilarious consequences).

Are you predicting a repeat of Edinburgh?

If I was you I'd be hoping for a repeat of Edinburgh - just don't pull a Derm and leave at half time thinking the game is over :-)

Also travelling from Shannon Friday morning, but will head into town.  Since tickets have to be picked up at the ground we'll be out there early, and will be in The Garryowen.

Guys just so you're up to date William Webb Ellis is where we're gathering...

Pre Match Drinks
**Twickenham Pub Update**

Ealier in the week on behalf of the Connacht Clan I stated that the desitnation of choice would be "The Garryowen" pub. I've been informed last night by my Twickenham based contact that this establishment for reasons unknown has closed it doors.

Fear not though another brave venue a mere hop and a skip away has stepped forward to provide shelter, respite and sustanance to the brave warriors of the Clan pre and quite importantly post game. (Not only that, it is sustiance with a discount...)

The William Webb Ellis - www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/home/pubs/the-william-webb-ellis

"The offer to all away supporters of 20% off of their food bills. Just let the staff behind the bar know you are going to the match (if not kitted out and flying flags!) and they will happy to apply the discount. And there are plenty of other great deals on food (served until 10pm) and drinks."
