Hi All
Just beginning a thread for all the Dublin/Leinster based Connacht Suporters to share info on where to watch the Connacht games whether Pro12 or HEC or arrange gatherings..
Cheers

Great idea, I'm a Dub so would be good idea for car pools heading to Galway etc.
Lets see how many of us are there?

I'm living in Leinster too. It's horrible to get home for Friday evening games, but luckily all the HC games have fallen on Saturdays for us

Isn't the Ulster match on at around the same time?
Just make sure you go to a bar with Sky. The game is only on the Red Button. Most places will show it if you ask

Get the feelers and the phones out lads, there must be a good few Pubs in Dublin with Connacht roots that could/would show the game in preference to the Tigers/Ulster..
If a venue can be picked then we can send out word via Twitter/ Connacht FB Page and here, and anyone at a loose end or needing to moral support come Saturday evening can surround themselves with like minded souls...

A friend mentioned the Barge pub on the canal at top of Charlemont street never has any problems showing Connacht games.

Lads if you do pick a pub let us know and we'll contact them to get them some stuff (window stickers, place on the website etc...)

I'm moving to Dublin (North City) soon and was wondering where would be a decent spot to watch the games.
I note that the lads from Galway who have the Olso/Salthouse/Cottage now have three pubs in Dublin:
- Against the Grain (Wexford St)
- The Black Sheep (Capel St)
- The Brew Dock (Amiens St)
A possible venue for watching matches up there?

If they're like the joints in Galway, the food and beer are excellent. Not too sure what the screen situation is so if anyone's visited them, do tell.

I'd definitely be up for heading to a pub in Dublin for any Connacht games that I cant make it home for. Just a shame, that the majority of them aren't on tv.
We should keep it in mind for when the HC comes around. If we had the numbers, we could ring the place in advance, make sure that they'd show the game, and get a group together.
Cant be the Zebre away game though. I'll be in New Zealand (as if I have mentioned this loads already)

Good stuff Cows, we'll keep the flag flying in Dublin. I recall from talking before to you that you're on the North Side as well?ConnachtCows wrote:

City Center. Used to live in Drogheda, so that might have been why you thought Northside. Work in the IFSC, but live Southside now.
It would be great to get a pub up here showing all the Connacht games, but going by Buskers attempt in Galway, I'm not sure how popular it would turn out to be

having lived in dublin for 10 yrs before relocating down here i can appreciate how difficult it is to find a pub willing to show a game especially if it is clashing with the soccer.
Mayes at the top of Dorset st, just as you turn from the hill at end of o connell st is owned by a man from the roscommon side of Carrick on shannon. its very popular with the connacht gaa supporters when up for croker. Its a small bar by dublin standards.
Messr Maguires was galway owned at one stage and still gets a lot of westies in(so im told).
Another option for yee even on a short term basis is Break for the Border. They already have a relationship with MRSC Dublin Branch who use it for Munster Games. Its a very big pub with lots of tvs and going by MRSC branch emails look after them very well.
Mrsc Dublin can be contacted via email on mrscdublin@munsterrugby.ie or via facebook (Munster rugby supporters club dublin branch) and twitter MRSCDUBLIN@MRSCDUBLIN. I think its all caps but not sure re twitter. Im sure they will provide you with a contact in the bar and any info re other pubs you need. i know they were looking for a while before settling on Break for the border.
Happy hunting.

As an update, I was into the Black Sheep recently. Awesome food, great beer, my loyalty card from the Salthouse is still valid...but no telly.
