Afterwards he played professional rugby for a number of local teams like the Bulls, Sharks, Hawks and Griquas. he in 2008 and 2009 for Saracens in London played, but in 2010 returned to him by the Griquas to join. This was in 2009 in London where he had the opportunity to join the group Right Said Fred song Stand Up (For the Champions). "When Edward heard Right Said Fred is going to record the song, he suggested that the Saracens prop sing along. So I ended up in the studio. Google translate is rather charming (love the last line):
Former Griffons, Lions, Stormers, Saracens and now Connacht hooker Ethienne Reyneke include him with AJ le Roux for the Currie Cup with the Cheetahs.
The Cheetahs will for most of the tournament to get along without their Springbok captain Adriaan Strauss while Torsten van Jaarsveld for cruciate ligaments will play again this season.
Reynecke learned his rugby for the Lions and there and later at Saracens respectively played Willie Wepener and Schalk Brits.
With his mobility, he should like a glove fit the Cheetahs and is of him as the number one hooker to establish in Strauss's absence. And he is yet in a position to which he used to.
The Free State, former Bokstut Wiaan du Preez's services for the Currie acquired for losing Coenie Oosthuizen to compensate for the national team.
Sharks wing and center Piet Lindeque is also heading back to Bloemfontein and can depth between driekwarte provided.
* This is apparently tall tales that Marco Wentzel also report to the Cheetahs.

Flav has a science degree and teaching postgrad, met his parents at a Connacht match a few years ago and they said teaching/coaching was the post-retirement plan. Delighted for him if that's true.

The Independent is reporting Jerry Flannery is joining Arsenal as the S&C coach and he'll be working under "under former Connacht strength and conditioning coach and IRFU fitness education manager Des Ryan, who is the Academy's head of sports medicine and athletic development."
Not sure if that's in addition to JOC, but it could mean JOC isn't going there.

If he isn't going to gunners maybe he can take Jerry's pundit job at tg4. I don't know what his gaeilge is like but if its as poor as flas was then let him speak English. The other 2 pundits and the presenter can cover the Irish punditry. Its what BBC alba do and will keep people like me whose Irish isn't as fluent as it should be listening to the commentary and hopefully learn a bit as well as enjoy the game more.

I was impressed with how well Jerry did at the Gaeilge. Also cos he's not a fluent speaker makes him easier to understand. I'd like to see more hookers and less government press secretaries analysing the game in any language.
I suppose Locks has that gig to look forward to whenever he hangs up the boots (TG4 analyst, not government press secretary).

Flannery last night tweeted about his role for the first time. He wrote: "First impressions, honored (sic) to be here, great club, great people. Next up some big tackles & big throw-ins."
A spokesperson for Arsenal said: "To confirm, we have both Jerry Flannery and Johnny O'Connor starting internships with us at our Youth Academy."
