We shouln't beat ourselves up over our result pre-seson, did you all see yesterdays result V Leicester !!!! ??? ;D
I thought they might cause a few problems in the Premiership when we played them at Athlone, they are one of the biggest sides physically I,ve seen for a while.

But to temper that, Leicester are missing 12 players on RWC duty so they are expected to struggle like they did during the previous RWC.

That,s all well and good but to beat any Leicester side is a fete in itself, If we managed to beat Munster without their world cup players then we would be over the moon !!!!
Exeter were only promoted last season and managed to finish mid-table. They are a very good outfit with big money behind them, I stand by my initial post and say they will cause some upsets this year.

I agree GD. Despite their missing players Leicester are a huge club so beating them is a great start for Exeter. Messed up my predictions though!

Great result for Exeter. delighted for them as they came so close to winning this fixture last season. Do they still have the most Irish players in their squad this season again?

Yep beating any Leicester team at Welford Road is a massive task, they just don't go for losing at home at all...
Interested to see that they started their Argentinian flyhalf with Gareth Steenson only coming on for the last third. Fine player Steenson, if he feels he needs first team rugby I'm sure we could squeze him in somehwere.....

Diom, I did say earlier on this thread that they are the dark horses of the English Premiership this season.

I,m not psychic Diom it's just that seing them up close at Duberry Park made me realise that they must be the biggest team in stature that I have seen for a while, the South Sea Islander at 12 was bloody enormous, ran through our defence swatting off would be tacklers like flies.
A friend of mine went to watch Exeter last weekend he said the 12 was awesome, crossed the gain line every time he had the ball .
