2 year-deal, would be perfect to attract him. 33 for retiring is ok at n°8, look al Muldoon/Nick Williams

Just to mention do , I said it to him in Galway last year would he like to join and his reponce was no chance ! Ulster and Cardiff I am sure are after him aswell !

33 starts in 4 years at Munster due to injury and lack of form. Really hope we're not in for him.

MOM in 2 of the last 3 games for Munster so when fit and motivated he's a hell of a player. Granted that's when all the internationals are away, but I'd take him as a Muldoon replacement as there will be no other IQ player of similar quality available.

My gut feeling is that he'll go to Italy or France, unless Ulster offer decent wedge/length of contract...

Find it greatly disappointing that for one reason or another he never achieved what I believed he had the potential to be. Ireland doesn't produce lots of 6'5" lads with his physicality, wheels and footballing ability....

When you put it like that, what're the odds he rocks up at Munster A Pau?

The problem with Copeland is 1: his 2 best Seasons of pro rugby have been during contract negotiation season, so patchy form 2: his injury record, 3: if he was that good Munster would have paid the extra bit to keep him, if he's not improving the backrow and just adding to it will his wage be worth it?

I'd be happy to have him as a squad player but not our primary 8. We need a quality signing along with him if it's true he is even coming.

Muldoon is not CJ either. I'd be happy with Copeland

As I said it makes sense to have

Lock : Dillane/Roux/Thornbury/Gallagher
6 : SOB/Masterson
7 : Butler/Connolly
8 : the new big NIQ/McKeon

And Copeland to cover 8 and 5 à la Naoupu

So effectively paying a good wage for a 7th choice back row (IE behind the 6 named above) and third choice in his preferred position and a break glass incase of emergency lock??

That doesn't seem like good business

We're losing Muldoon and prob. Dawai and Browne.
If the NIQ + Copeland (+Claffey) are on the same money overall it could be a good business

Connolly has to fully step up as 7, though, in this back-row balance

Yeah, forgot about him as he's so much injured :( Copeland is needed.

I've been reading some thoughts on Pau forum :
They could be forced to prepare the future in back-row by signing a "French Qualified" (JIFF) as soon as next season.
So they might release either Dougall or Butler this summer instead of 2019
I'd take any of them with both hands.

Looks like Godwin's definitely on the move to Ireland, though his destination province isn't named.

www.canberratimes.com.au/rugby-union/war...20180308-p4z3i1.html

"Kyle Godwin to pack his bagsWe’re hearing Godwin, the Brumbies No.12, has signed a deal to play in Ireland. His one and only Test for the Wallabies came in 2016 in a game when Michael Cheika rested some of his best players, so you can’t blame the 25-year-old for chasing the Euro."

Well the Rebels Brumbies game is at 08:45 tomorrow on Sky Sports Action if you want a gawk at the alleged new recruit. He's 16/1 to score the first try.
